2025 ISC Call on Biodiversity & Climate Change

AquaSYNC, a multidisciplinary science partnership between NIVA Denmark, Aarhus University (AU-ECOS) and The Swedish Institute for the Marine Environment at Gothenburg University, is offering funding for one AquaSYNC supported Synthesis Working Group (SWG).

The main scientific focus of AquaSYNC is related to analysis and synthesis of ecologically relevant data sets in lakes and reservoirs, rivers and streams, and coastal and marine waters. So, are you researching the critical links between climate change and biodiversity in Arctic and sub-Arctic aquatic ecosystems? Here’s your chance to be part of a scientific group tackling one of the most pressing global challenges! Successful proposals will explore key topics related to freshwater, marine, or land-sea interactions in Arctic and sub-Artic regions.

Why should you apply?

  • Join an international network of experts working at the climate-biodiversity frontier.
  • Funding support is available for travel, accommodation, and meetings.
  • Contribute to high-impact research shaping future policies.
  • Work will be supported by experts from AquaSYNC.

📅 Deadline for proposals: May 1, 2025

📢 Decisions announced: End of May 2025
